UFO Education

by admin on Aug.28, 2008, under Uncategorized

Parents and children alike are often captivated with Outer Space. Hollywood has made much of the enigma which gives the children even more of an active imagination. There are many fascinating possibilities and having these discourses with your children often brings intellectual conversations, and more importantly, memory building bonding moments. Share the enigma of the night sky with your children.

The theories of UFO’s become more popular year after year. Some people use their science-fiction minds to place them as alien-beings visiting from space. Some people use their politically charged minds and see them as secret government experimentations, either from the U.S. or rival countries spying on us. But when did this craze start? And what might these strange objects really be?

There have been cave drawings of UFO’s since 47,000 BC. These drawings from the cavemen are found all-round the Earth. Even the Old Testament of the Bible says that Ezekiel saw a burning chariot in the sky. Leonardo Da Vinci described seeing a unidentified flying object in the sky and incorporated it in a few of his paintings.

But it wasn’t until 1947 that the ‘flying saucer’ theory and the current craze came into play. On June 14th, pilot Kenneth Arnold spotted 9 circular shaped flying objects near Mt. Rainer. He reported he opened his window from his airplane, in case it was just a reflection, and the objects were still there, moving at a remarkable speed. He said it had no tail and was as flat as a pie pan. After reporting this, overwhelming reports of UFO’s began. Thus, the craze and the theories of what these things are became born. The government disregarded Kenneth Arnold’s experience as a mirage.

So, aside from the popular extraterrestrial theories, what can these phenomenons actually be?

There is a theory being studied and close to being proven of balls of lightening. The theory is that instead of lightning coming to the ground, it can sometimes bundle into a ball. And instead of it being a flash like most lightening, this ball floats and maneuvers a little before disappearing. This can also easily be mistaken for an object in the sky, especially since most UFO reports claim them as being bright and glowing.

Another fascinating theory is bugs! Insects can absorb natural bioluminescence from certain types of fungi. When insects travel in a heard or bundle together, it can give off a glowing, floating and strange appearance. Some species of owls also have a natural bioluminescence that can give a similar appearance. Witnessing this can easily be mistaken for something mysterious in the sky.

Also, natural gases from the ground can cause balls of light in the sky. Certain spots, especially near mountains, contain a mixture of elements that can cause strange lights. Depending on where you are standing, this can look like a floating light, like the Marfa lights in Texas.

There are several of scientific and meteorological explanations for these UFO phenomenon, but let’s face it, they’re just not as entertaining! Imagine all the weird theories people had about lightening before science proved what it really is. And, no one really wants to watch movies about how gases made the UFO’s, its cooler to see alien invasions that give you a little rush of excitement.

Until such time as science can prove anything, keep your mind open to explanations because we still don’t know what they are…. They could very well just be little green men!

Yet Another Bigfoot Hoax

by admin on Aug.22, 2008, under Uncategorized

National Geographic has announced that the recent claims constructed by a duo of hunters in GA have proved to be nothing more than a “bold face fraud”.

In short, the hunters, Matt Whitton and Rick Dyer claimed to have discovered a 230-kg Bigfoot cadaver that they were holding on ice, and talked about their find in CA last Friday with “contentious” Sasquatch hunter Tom Biscardi. At the news conference, the threesome displayed photos of their supposed breakthrough and claimed to have DNA evidence to confirm their claim.

A biologist at the University of Minnesota, Curt Nelson, examined the DNA, and determined it to be a combination of human and opposum. Nelson assured National Geographic that the “suggestion was that the tissue sample was from the bowel of the creature, and that the creature had consumed a possum. That seems unlikely to me.”

President of the Bigfoot Field Investigators Organization, Matthew Moneymaker, stated to National Geographic that the news conference was a “profiteering scam” assembled by Biscardi:

They recognise there’s fantastic interest in seeing photos of [Bigfoot], and they are attempting to get people to pay to see hoaxed pics. There’s been at the least a 1000 accounts in papers across the globe. Prior to this, the highest record was around 200 articles in newspapers.

Of Biscardi, Moneymaker says: “Now he’s genuinely a famous con artist. He was a con artist recognised in Bigfoot circles for a long time, and now it will not be long before everyone knows it.”

Of the Bigfoot cadaver, however, Biscardi remains adamant: “I want to get to the bottom of it. What I seen, what I touched, what I felt, and what I prodded wasn’t a masque that was sewn on a bear pelt, OK?”

In the meantime, the world still awaits for National Geographic to bring clarity to a few other recent monster claims.

Phoenix Lights Ufo Mystery 2007 – Former Az Gov Symington Admits To Seeing “Craft Of Unknown Origin”
By Bill Knell

On March 13, 1997, unexplained lights appeared over Phoenix, Arizona. I was in town when the mysterious event took place. While authorities would like you to believe that these were merely military flares, former Arizona Governor Fife Symington says there is much more to the story.

Symington now admits that he was among the hundreds of witnesses who saw a huge triangular object in the skies over Phoenix. The former Governor made a number of statements about the Phoenix Lights mystery to Leslie Kean, Special Correspondent to The Prescott Daily Courier. The statements were included in an article by Kean published in the Courier on March 18, 2007. In that article, the former Arizona Governor describes what he saw on March 13, 1997:

“It was enormous and inexplicable,” he said. “Who knows where it came from? A lot of people saw it, and I saw it too.”

Symington was referring to a V-shaped object with lights on it seen in the skies over Phoenix ten years ago. Some estimated the lights to be the size of a football field, while others said they could have been a mile long. He continued to describe his own sighting of the triangular object: “It was dramatic. And it couldn’t have been flares because it was too symmetrical.” The former Arizona Governor revealed the object to be a “craft of unknown origin.”

While Symington hasn’t been the only political figure in Arizona to comment on the Phoenix Lights, he stands alone in his admission that they were more than just flares. When asked to comment on the Phoenix Lights in 2000, Senator John McCain said, “That has never been fully explained.” He also quickly added, “But I have to tell you that I do not have any evidence whatsoever of aliens or UFOs.”

Fife Symington says he called the commander of Luke Air Force Base, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and a General with the Arizona National Guard back in 1997 to ask about the lights. None of them were able to provide him with any answers and seemed “perplexed.” One of the problems with the sightings were the multitude of explanations available at the time.

The V-shaped object with lights was seen in the sky around 8:30pm. The lights that were videotaped and seen around 10:30pm are what most people call the Phoenix Lights. These are often explained away as flares, but not everyone agrees. People that videotaped the 10:30pm event back in 1997 say the lights were in a triangular shape. Some of them had seen military flares being dropped on other occasions and say this was something completely different. However, authorities stayed with the flares explanation and explained the earlier events as a sighting of the Hale-Bopp Comet.

Synmington called for an investigation into the Phoenix Lights shortly after the sightings occurred, but the statement was a hollow one. Either he was not able to obtain cooperation from military authorities, or he never made much of an effort. However, with pressure mounting from the public, UFO researchers and news gathering organizations, he had to eventually take some action.

On June 19, 1997, Governor Fife Symington held a press conference in Phoenix. Dressing one of his aides up as an Alien, the Governor said that the Phoenix Lights were flares and nothing to get upset about. He also said that he was only joking when he ordered the Arizona Department of Public Safety (Arizona State Police) to investigate the sightings. Today, he still defends those actions.

“I wanted people to lighten up and calm down, so I introduced a little levity. But I never felt that the overall situation was a matter of ridicule,” Symington says about the infamous press conference. But not everyone was laughing. Former Phoenix Councilwoman Frances Barwood made a serious effort to investigate the sightings in 1997.

According to her recent statements, Barwood was unable to convince federal authorities to interview even one of the seven hundred witnesses that she spoke to about the Phoenix Lights. Big surprise! Being an elected official isn’t enough when it comes to getting answers about UFOs from the Military. Just ask current Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano.

Janet Napolitano called for an investigation into the Phoenix Lights during her 1ᚥ campaign to become Arizona Attorney General and was elected to that office in 1998. Despite her former position as a U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona, we can assume that she was served the same plate of disinformation from the U.S. Military that the rest of us received. What does she think of Symington’s new revelation and the Phoenix Lights overall? We have asked and are awaiting her answer.

My own experience earlier that day was frightening and likely related to one or both the sightings of March 13, 1997. I was driving in from Flagstaff (north to south) on I-DZ in the early afternoon. On a day when traffic was already heavy and almost at a standstill, State Patrol vehicles suddenly appeared and caused vehicles to pull over to the far right lanes. A few minutes later, military vehicles filled with troops and equipment covered by tarps went flying by at high speeds. The military procession lasted several minutes.

I was later told by other drivers who attended a seminar I was giving in Phoenix that the same thing happened that night and the next day. Others who attended my seminar reported being almost ‘buzzed’ by the lights while driving on various local roadways. They described huge balls of light which seemed to come down very low and keep pace with traffic. Apart from all the witness reports, more than a few people took photos and video of the Phoenix Lights.

Huge triangular objects have been a constant part of the UFO phenomenon from the very beginning. Some believe the triangle sightings date to prehistory and many point to sightings that may have occurred in the late 1800s. Most witnesses at that time assumed they were experimental kites of some sort. Then, there were all the unexplained triangle sightings in the 1950s, with and without lights. Two of the most famous involved the U.S. and British Military.

Beginning on September 13, 1952, Military Personnel aboard ships involved in NATO Operation Mainbrace saw and tracked a triangular shaped object flying at over 900 mph between Denmark and Norway. Witnesses said the object emitted a bright white light. There were additional UFO sightings during the NATO exercise as well which may have included saucer and cigar shaped crafts.

In July of 1955, a dark colored boomerang hovered completely still over Lasham Airfield, Hampshire, England, during the National Gliding Competitions. Seen by trained military observers, experienced civilian pilots and untrained spectators, the object hovered for thirty seconds before moving off to the southwest.

A triangular-shaped UFO captured the attention of the world’s press in November of 1989 when a huge, dark triangle with sparkling bright lights underneath was seen by citizens and police in Liege, Belgium. More sightings followed. In 1990, Belgium Military Officials announced that two F-16 jet fighters scrambled from a NATO base chased a triangular shaped object for over an hour. One jet locked the object in on radar. On the pilot’s screen it looked like a diamond.

There have been recent sightings of unexplained lights near Phoenix and triangular shaped craft over New Mexico and other parts of the Southwest.

I Grew Up In Area 51

I Grew Up In Area 51
By Douglas Bower Platinum Quality Author

I’ve often wondered whether the Alien Abduction Phenomenon was really as well known in groups that are not particularly inclined to learn anything about this subject. You know the type I mean. There are scores of folks, some whom I know personally, who not only have never heard of, or have scarcely had a reason to hear about, Alien Abductees. They don’t read science fiction, they’ve heard of but never watched a Star Trek or Star Wars movie, and would generally regard sci-fi fans (they believe only sci-fi fans have alien abduction experiences) as having a screw or two loose.

They just are not into a genre even remotely related to this phenomenon.

I was recently at a friend’s birthday party when my wife spilled the beans that I was writing a book called, “I was Once Abducted by Aliens, but They Threw Me Back.” The room suddenly went silent and all eyes were on me. So, I took advantage of that unpleasant pause in the conversation to begin my diatribe, based mostly on the evidence I was finding for the book, on alien abduction. When I conveyed my personal experience with UFO’s and Aliens, that’s when their stories began flowing faster than the beer and margaritas.

I was surprised that the subject, and mind you these were not sci-fi folks, was so readily accepted and that some of them had stories of their own or those of relatives who had been experiencers. Though you do read in the literature that some of those claiming to have had an alien abduction experience do have the basis of being versed in the paranormal and sci-fi literature, there are a lot of experiencers who have never in their lives picked up a book or watched a Discovery Channel program on UFO’s or Aliens. Many alien abductees were just going along in the humdrum of their lives trying to eke out a living, watching reruns of All in the Family and I Love Lucy, when they suddenly and quite unsolicited have a really bizarre experience which might be the result of something out of this world!

I have to admit my bias at this point. I do have a huge background in science fiction literature, science fiction television and movies, and any cable program that has this phenomenon as its theme. I not only watched them all but I am afraid I could give stage directions and quote dialogue for almost all of the Star Trek TV shows. That’s just how “into” this I am. So, that is definitely something a reader should keep in mind when reading my articles and my book, which I have finished and am currently editing.

However, my interest came a long time after I had become an Experiencer-quite against my will-at a very early age.

Though the first Star Trek series, of the Kirk-Spock era, began in 1966, I was unaware of this program until much, much later when I was in my teenage years. That was mainly because we had one television during that time and my parents would never in a million years have allowed something so vapid (their view of sci-fi) into the living room when there was Lawrence Welk and Bonanza to watch (I think Hoss Cartwright and Lawrence Welk were aliens). But, what sparked my interest in this UFO-Alien question, what would set me off on decades of continued interest, would be my sightings of some very strange events which included, but is not limited to, UFO’s, an alien entity or two, and at least two missing time events, one that took place in the sixth grade and the other during my sophomore year of college.

It would turn out that all these years of watching cable TV programs on this phenomenon would begin a slow process for me in connecting the dots, so to speak, that I had actually grown up in one of the hottest of the UFO-Alien Hotspots of the world-Area 51. And, the reason I grew up there is because my father worked in the Area 51 general area. He took the very same airplane, from the very same airfield, that all those working on back engineering of alien spacecraft and interviewing those pesky little grey aliens went to work.

We lived in Las Vegas but did spend a year in an even spookier placed called, Tonopah, Nevada, where my Dad worked on an even more secure, top secret area that was farther north of the main Area 51 site.

Long before Area 51 had become a household word in the vocabularies of Ufologists and Abductologists, I lived there. Long before there were cable TV programs on The History Channel or Discovery Channel dealing with this issue, I lived there. Long before the term, “Alien Abduction” became a worldwide phenomenon; I lived at Area 51 and had, while there, at least one encounter with some sort of entity as well as multiple UFO events.

There’s more to come…stay tuned!
